First Christmas in Tucson

This year we had our first Christmas in Tucson!  Can't wait for many more! We definitely started some new traditions and even though we didn't get to everything we wanted to do around town...we have a nice list ready to go for next year! ;-)  This time last year, we had a feeling this move was happening and I was so nervous about it all!  It was a great decision and so nice to truly feel settled.

We started off the fun with some cookie baking!  Lucy was up pretty much most of the night before so slept through all the fun!

Ainsley loved decorating the presents under the tree with stickers!  haha...and I let her!  Uncles presents got extra :-)

And a few of my sweet Lucy...wasnt sure where these all fit in but just had to post!  Maybe I feel a little bit of Mommy guilt that I dont post too many pics of her...BUT...I am ALWAYS HOLDING HER!  Even as I type this!!!!

After all...this holiday season sure wouldn't have been much fun without these 3!  I have always loved Christmas...though have to say Thanksgiving is my fav...but Christmas as a mommy...is just the BEST!

OK...back to the holidays :)  I always seem to get sidetracked!

Sunday I was treated to a day at a local spa from my mom!  Chris and I were going to celebrate together out at one of our fav restaurants but I was exhausted and decided to do a little home party with the kids which was PERFECT!  It was a truly great day!

Mims and Lucy!  We call her the Lucy Whisperer...seriously what is it about Grandmas that seem to put babies right to sleep?

Christmas Eve the kids had some fun playtime outside!  Mims really wanted to see Ainsley drive the jeep!  haha

THat night we attended church with the Ritchey fam then headed back to their house for dinner and a gift exchange!

We just love this family!

And once we got back home...there was a special box waiting with new jammies, slippers, mugs, cocoa, and a new book to read!

I was thinking Evan wouldn't be able to sleep but must have been exhausted from all the festivities!

The kids were up super early and so were we...ready for all the excitement!

When you are an uncle...your gifts are not your own!

I LOVE when I can find gifts the kids will LOVE and they dont even know they exist!  Evan had never seen this Buzz Lightyear space station and was so shocked when he opened it :)

Awesome new table for the new house!  WOOHOO!

I was so excited to surprise MJ with this Oregon Ducks light!  Mims-how did I not get a pic of you with your surprise?!

We were all good this year and rewarded with some special gifts...Best present for me...my family all celebrating together...could only be more perfect if the Lindbergs were driving distance!!!  We couldn't make it out there this year with Lucy being so new!

Kids at play!

So fun to see Evan getting so into all these Super Hero boy toys!  Or as Daddy calls them "Manly doll houses" LOL...that miniature golf set was another thing I found that he had never seen before!  You can find such neat things on amazon!

Lucy sat in the swing for most of the presents!!!!  I was shocked.  haha!  She was also spoiled with lots of fun and frilly things!

Taking a break from all the fun with a ring pop!

What a fun Christmas Eve and Day we had!  And by the looks of facebook and blogs...our friends did too!!! My mom headed back to Phoenix early that day and Christian had to go back to work yesterday :(.  So the kids and I have been hanging out playing!  The house is a CRAZY mess but they are playing constantly!

Ainsley singing songs!

Today, we had fun with shrinky dinks!

And the first of MANY puppet shows!

Evan is out of school through next week so we are just chilling at home hanging out together!  As long as everyone is healthy, Our plan is to head up to PHX to ring in the New Year with the Mathiesen Fam and spend New Years Day with my mom and the gang!

She's TWO!

Is it crazy that I feel like I just threw Ainsley first birthday party?!  I guess it's kind of like how I still say "we just moved to Tucson"...Oh how LIFE just flies by!

Today, our sweet, middle child turned TWO! :-)
TWO? TWO!  Ok...at one you are still a baby...but TWO...officially a big girl!

She was SO excited about her birthday and talked about it for days!

Last night we did a little decorating :-)  Ainsley woke up about a thousand times last night...always asking "My birthday party yet?" "No baby not yet" "Ok...not yet"

Today, she was up BRIGHT and EARLY excited for the big day to finally be here!  And everyone we came in contact with while out and about...she made sure to tell them this was HER day :)

Here she is tonight before her birthday party with our little family of 5 :-)  The Ritchey's were going to join us but poor little Addy was under the weather

I had to play defense to keep her from opening these all day!  Daddy had a SUPER early meeting so couldnt be here when we all got up and of course wanted to be apart of it!

hmmmmm...maybe a tiny smidge of baby still left...

When we were at the store last week, Evan said he wanted to make Ainsley's cake.  Well...I am NOT the best baker but, since he asked figured we would give it a whirl!

Ainsley woke up this morning asking for balloons!  Her wish was granted!  Kendra and Addy dropped these off to her today and she was SO excited!  Thank you!!!!

Thank you to all our VA, MD, and NY family that made today so special by sending such special gifts!  She had so much fun opening and playing with them all today!

Also...wanted to say thank you to all our friends and family for the videos, fb messages, texts, phone calls, and facetime chats today!  Ainsley LOVED answering the phone and watching the videos over and over ;-)

Her new crocs we got her!

Reading cards

:-)  Loves it mimi and big daddy!  Told us all the "SHHHH babies sleeping (there are twins)"

We let her pick dinner tonight....pizza of course...and then we had cake!

Snuck in one of my sweet boy!  Dont have any of Lucy-Goosey :(  She was in the front pack the WHOLE time...literally for hours.

Sticking her fingers in the cake...haha

She said she was "Sophia the first" ...isnt that new princess so cute?!

Birthday loves from her main man!

Dear Ainsley,
My little lady...where does time go?  Seems like just yesterday we were leaving our ultrasound after just finding out you were a girl!  I remember riding home in the car, day dreaming about what life would be like with a little girl.  And may I say...my dreams didn't even begin to come close to the joy and love you have brought into our lives.  You are so sweet, spunky, sensitive, and caring.  You constantly keep us smiling and Daddy and I frequently tell each other that we just can't get enough of you!  You are such a little chatty cathy and saying more each day!  You love your babies, dancing, singing, playing outside, reading books (Llama Llama series is your fav), art projects, helping mommy, and going to your gym class each week!  Though I think your favorite thing is WHATEVER your bubba is doing!  You constantly follow him around, say whatever he says, and want everything he has ;-)  And even though it may drive him crazy at times...he LOVES you so much!  You are mommy's right hand woman when it comes to helping around the house and with baby Lucy-I just know you guys are going to be best friends.  You love to empty the dishwasher, do laundry, help burp and change Lucy and will really do anything mommy and daddy ask you too!  Along with lots of likes...you have some dislikes too!  You don't like...TV, sharing your toys, when the dogs don't listen to you, riding in the car, being off your schedule, getting your hair brushed or fixed, or many types of meat (honestly that is the ONLY food I can really think of).  It has been so fun watching you go from a baby to this big girl who loves to pick out her clothes, bows, loves pink, wearing boots and fun hats!  Ainsley...we love you so much B.G.!  You truly bring so much joy to us and everyone around you!  Daddy and I continue to say how blessed we are to have you, your bubba and sissy.  Happy 2nd Birthday!  We can't wait to celebrate many many more with you!  Hugs and Lots of moochies sweetness!
 Love, Mommy and Daddy
