Happy Boy!

He is another pic of him with Daddy. Yes, Daddy is tall, but some people were wondering how tiny he really is...I think this shows it :)

Here is a clip of him smiling...we know it is just reflexes...but we think it is so cute!!!!  He has little dimples!  Try to watch the full minute if you can :)

Life at Home!

All ready for his first night! He did great!!!! Woke every 3 hours to eat...we feel so lucky, he is such a peaceful baby!
Dad at the first doctor's appt.
The lovely sign that the grandma's put together for us!!!
Going on his first walk to help with his jaundice...check out his arms...HOLD ON!

First sponge bath! He didn't scream at all!!!! Like I said...a VERY good baby!
All bundled up...Daddy is a very good at swaddling, the nurses at Banner taught him well :)
Cute little premie outfit...It didn't quite look this way after the diaper explosion!
Sun Bathing in his stroller trying to get rid of that yellow! Great AZ sun...he can be treated from indoors!

Our little guy is now 4 days old! Here are a few pics from the last couple of days! ENJOY:) We have already had 2 doctors appt. (something to expect with a premie), he is Jaundiced, but to be expected. We got his levels tested today and hopefully they have dropped since yesterday. If not and it hasn't gone too high then we can treat at home with special blankets. If it goes too high, he would have to be readmitted to Banner for light therapy...that would break mommy and daddy's heart :( BUT, we are doing everything possible to make sure that doesn't happen :)

Our Little Monkey is HERE???!!!!

EVAN JO LINDBERG
January 23rd, 2009 at 8:24 pm

WOW!  That is all we can really say right now!  If you would have told Christian and I a week ago that we would be parents, we would not have believed it...BUT WE ARE and it is WONDERFUL!

In a nutshell...here are the major chain of events.  After my Triage visit on Wednesday, the contractions continued (even though after Doc calls, they assured me it was a side effect to the meds).  Thursday night they especially got REALLY bad.  Honestly, I thought I was having bathroom issues, not contractions :)  My friend Melissa convinced me to go have the doctor look at the problem and maybe he could give me something for my discomfort.  Well, on a Friday we figured we should just head to Triage.  I told the Triage nurse what I was feeling and she examined me right away and told me I was dialated 5 cm and in labor!  AH!  Christian and I (esp I) were REALLY scared.  We called our fam right away and told them what was happening.  My mom jumped on a quick flight to Dallas and made it here just in time.  After the epidural (OH MY GOSH PEOPLE WITH NATURAL BIRTH SHOULD GET A VERY SPECIAL GOLD MEDAL) I was doing great and had quite a few visitors, so it made the waiting game quite fun :)  Once my mom got there, things moved quick and our little guy was born at 8:24 pm weighing 6 pounds even, actually the nurse called 5 pounds 16 ounces, but we all caught her error :)  He was 19 1/2 inches, which right away the doc said was very big for a premie.  He has what looks to be BROWN eyes and STRAWBERRY BLONDE HAIR!  He did reassure me that if Little Evan did go another 5 weeks, he would have been a VERY LARGE baby.

Evan went immediately to the NICU to be examined, etc and was released shortly after because he was doing so well :)  So, no problems to report at all!  We feel so blessed that he is here and that he is safe.  Thank you EVERYONE for your kind words and keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.  He is such a sweetheart! :)  Enjoy the pics...you know there will be more to come later and maybe even a little video.

Right after he was born...
You may notice a short time gap in pics here...but we had absolutely NOTHING with us at the hospital, so the camera had very little juice :)

READY TO GO HOME!
Ready for his first car ride!
Heading to the car
All set to go...I am telling you the car ride was a very emotional time...it was surreal!
Loves his Boppy and so does mom, because she can just stare at him and all the little faces he makes!
Snuggled in his bouncer!
CLOSEUP!!!!!

Trip to Triage...but now HOME :)

At about 3:00am this morning, Christian and I made a trip to Triage because I was getting contractions every 7 minutes.  They monitored me at the hospital for a while and there they were about 4 minutes apart.  They gave me 3 doses of Tributylene (spelling?) and we were there until about 8:30.  Evan was moving around like crazy and I told him today is not is birthday so he should stop having a party :)  I am dialated about 1 cm, but they decided to send me home because even though the contractions were still happening, they are pain free.  I also have a virus (fever about 100.4) so that is most likely what caused the contractions.  I am feeling fine...just really tired and will update as new things arise.  Today I am going to just take it easy, my lovely husband is such a trooper and is going to be home with me today too and we both hope to return to work tomorrow :)

Piggy bank and my basketball!

Lindsay and I went one Sunday afternoon while the guys played golf and painted some pottery! I made a piggy bank for Little Evan! Of course there are quite a few mistakes...but I couldn't by this in a store!!! :)
This house is divided! Virginia Tech on one side...

and of course, TEXAS on the other!!!! Hmmm....which will he choose? Though I suppose it may be neither...
Belly Pic!!!
It looks like a BASKETBALL!!!!
He's getting to be a BIG boy! The contractions have continued, but I am taking it easy. The belly is tight, but the weeks are flying and the big day will be here before we know it and all the discomfort will be forgotten once we see our little one :)

Valentine's Day Baby...MAYBE!

Today I had a doctor's apt.  As most of you know, I have started irregular contractions.  The doctor measured me today and said I was measuring a little big.  He gave me some guidelines to follow for the next two weeks because he definitely wants me to make it until 36 weeks.  If I get 3 of the contractions in 1 hour, I need to go to Triage to get a shot.

Next apt, I am getting another ultrasound to check size, etc.  The doc said that if that looks good and I am still this uncomfortable (basically he is getting so big and it is really tight in there...he is putting alot of pressure on my organs) then he will plan to induce me anytime from 36-38 weeks. So basically 4 weeks from now...little Evan could be here :)

Fiesta Bowl...CLOSE CALL!

Last night, Christian and I went to the FIESTA BOWL!  It was a real nail bitter, but alot of fun!

I was decked out in Texas gear all day!  I wore a "Everybody Loves a Texas Baby"shirt (thx Bethany!) during the day and for the game, wore boots, skirt, and a "Future Longhorn on Board" shirt.  Let me tell you, almost EVERY person we walked by noticed the shirt and loved it!  It was cracking me up :)  They would just point and say "look at that shirt".  Even the Ohio fans liked it!

We ate BBQ at Westgate then headed over to the stadium and saw the tail end of warm-ups.  During the National Anthem a Bald Eagle named Challenger flew over the crowd, which was super cool.  I did get a pic of it, but it's not that great because well, he is a bird and was moving all over!  Everyone busted out laughing because his handler had his arm out to get him, but the challenger just plopped it down in the Texas endzone :)

Here's a pic from our seats!

And of course, BEVO was there!  Poor guy,  during the halftime show, Ohio set off these fireworks and he was scared to death!

And the final scoreboard, in case ya missed it!

Almost Finished!!!!

While my mom was here we worked so hard organizing everything in the nursery! My friend Sallie came over yesterday and we decided to move around things a little bit a hung a few things on the walls :) I am so proud of how it has turned out so far! Christian and I still need to hang the shelves we bought, and a few other knick knacks and a fan then it is finished!

My best friend from UT, Jenn sent little Evan a big package of LONGHORN gear!!! I can't wait to put him in his UT stuff!!!! :) Here is the bib she sent that I thought was adorable! The ears come out and it is a wash cloth :)

Ode to Aunt Jo

This morning, my Great Aunt Jo (who Evan gets his middle name from) passed away peacefully in her sleep.  We knew for a while that she was not doing well, but it is still really heartbreaking to lose someone so special.
