1 Month Old and Grandpa

My little boy is getting so big! He had his 1 month doctor's appt today and it went great! He is now 8 pounds 5 ounces and 22 inches long! Man, considering you grow weight quicker in the womb, this would have been a BIG BOY! He is in the 10th percentile for weight and in the 58th for height! Doc said he will be TALL :)

Things have been going really well. Still shocking that my due date has not even passed yet! Here are a few pics from yesterday...since it was his 1 month B-day!!!
Going for a walk his new jogging stroller!!!! THANKS GRACE AND JESSICA!!!! LOVE THIS!!! We have been walking all over the trails in our neighborhood.

Also, I received my photographers CD today and will post pics once the CD gets uploaded. I also have some fun pics from our visit with TY and memre and pepre!

On another note...Yesterday my grandfather passed away in his sleep. He is where the Longhorn Lineage began and it was always a special bond that we shared. When I was growing up, he loved sharing stories about his days at Texas and once I went there LOVED hearing all of my stories. A few times, I got a random 5 dollars in the mail to go get a beer on him from Scholz's (fellow Austinite's know the place). My grandmother and him used to go there quite frequently when they were in school there and it was a very special place for him. I know he has those horns up from above! He will be greatly missed. Once I got the call, I immediately thought about whether or not he got to see a pic of Evan (he was in a nursing home) and my dad told me he did get to see a picture shortly before he passed. I talked to him after I found out I was pregnant and he just couldn't wait to see his first great grandchild.

More pictures!

Evan's First Valentine's Day!!!Testing out the baby carrier Memere and Pepere bought us!!! He is still so tiny!!!
This is a pic from his first nap he took in his crib (he has been sleeping in our room!)
Napping on Daddy!
All ready for bed! Love the little elf hat :)
Holding his pacifier...I think this is too cute!!!

We have noticed Evan's personality is really starting the develop! He will respond to our voices with eye contact and sometimes even facial expressions! He also makes the FUNNIEST noises! He sounds like a little lamb. This afternoon, he was sleeping and just kept making this humming noises. He also makes this loud cooeing sound usually when being burped and changed. We have also noticed that his looks are starting to change!

Here is just a little preview of his newborn pics that we did on Saturday! The photographer was AMAZING! Any AZ people...let me know if you want her info!!! I plan on using her for all his milestones and family pics for Christmas! She was so patient and took a TON of pictures! The session was about 2.5 hours!!! I can't wait to get my CD of images this week! She sent us this on Saturday so we could see a few highlights! I will post more later!

7 pounds!!!!

I took Evan in to be weighed yesterday and he was 7 pounds 1 ounce!!!!! WAHOO!!!!! The staff already knows us now and were all joking about whether or not I put rocks in his diaper! The doctor was VERY impressed with his growth and he doesn't have to go back in next week! YEA!!!

In other news...Our little premie has now become a typical newborn :) Waking up more frequently during the night, a little more fussy, gasey...and we are exhausted!!!! But, we know that is all part of the JOY!!!!

Two Weeks Old!!!

First Bath Pics! Last night we were able to give him his first real bath using the FUN tub that my aunt Nancy bought for him! As Christian undressed him, he sprayed all over him and the floor! It was pretty funny! Enjoy pics and video at bottom of post!

The bedtime bath looks like it was doing its' job! BIG YAWN!
Just Chillin in the tub...LOVED IT! Very tolerant boy!
All bundled in his bath towel!
In his bouncer taking a snooze with his mittens on...had to put them on AFTER he fell asleep!

Our little munchkin is two weeks old! Even though he mainly just eats, sleeps, and poops (A LOT!)...there are quite a few other things he can do!
-Let us know when he is hungry, doesn't cry, but more so growls
-Take REAL baths! AND LOVES IT!
-hold your hand
-Scratch his face...see mittens pic...and by the way the creator of these mittens did not have smaller babies in mind...THEY DO NOT STAY ON!
-hold his pacifier in his mouth...this is REALLY adorable...need to catch it on film!
-Wiggle his arms out of Daddy's PERFECT swaddle (he likes to sleep with his arms above his head)
-Sleep for 5 hours the first part of the night...yes we are soooo lucky!
-snuggle on the couch
-Give mom kisses on the cheek (really he is just looking for food, but I like to think they are kisses)
-roll on his side
-DRINK 2.5 OUNCES of milk! The first day he was born, we could barely get 5cc's...and now we get 75 on a good feeding!!!

-Make his mom and dad love him more everyday :)

Week 2...going great!

Parenthood has been very exciting so far! This week Christian had to go back to work so, it has just been me and Evan during the day! Staying home can be kind of lonely. On Monday we had a doctor's appt...it went well :) He was still in the 5 pound range, but he has been eating a ton so Christian and I are hoping that when he goes to get weighed on Monday he is 6 pounds! He is on the growth chart though! 5th percentile!!! :) He's a little guy...but he will catch up!

On Tuesday I had to go by school and show my sub a few things, so my grandparents babysat! They must have done a great job entertaining him, because he was quite tuckered out after their visit!!! (Thanks for this cute outfit, Susan!!!)
On Wednesday, Mckinleigh came over for the day and hung out with us! Don't worry, Mckinleigh, he peed ALL over me this morning...HAHAHAHA!

This was taken right after his bath...check out that crazy curly hair!!!!
He loves being in his new swing (THANKS ANGELA)!!!!!
Even though it can be a little lonely, and lord knows there is NOTHING on TV, I have really enjoyed being home with him this week...he is just so fun to watch! His crazy faces, of which I need to catch on video, and when we smiles in his sleep is adorable! He is also very snuggley. Christian and I have also noticed some things that tend to make him irritable: being hungry, the hiccups, and getting his clothes changed! :)

One thing I can't figure out...HOW DO I GET HIM TO STOP WETTING THROUGH HIS CLOTHES?????!!!!! He goes through about 3 outfits a day! Because he is so tiny we have to fold over the premie diapers, so I am thinking I am not getting a great seal...but I have no idea how to solve that problem until the umbillical cord falls off! :)
