MY BABY is...well, no longer a baby!

EVAN IS ONE YEAR OLD!

Chapter 1: A little reflection
This will be my final post before the many posts from this last year are bound to a book that we can look back at and treasure years from now! I can still remember the first time I saw my little Evie just a year ago. I was excited, scared, and so nervous to be a new mommy! But once we held him and got him home...he was instantly one of us. It was just easy to have him here and even though this last year has presented challenges, our tight knit family of three has a bond and love that continues to grow each day.

And in the last year, Evan has gone from a tiny little premie at just 6 pounds and 19.5 inches long...

To a BIG boy weighing in at 26 pounds 14 oz and 31 inches long!

Throughout this last year, Evan has achieved many milestones and as excited as I was the 1st time he smiled, rolled over, laughed, and said "ma-ma", my excitement continues each time he experiences and accomplishes something new.

These days he is...
-pointing to foods, toys, etc that he wants
-raises arms and calls for mama
-calls "dog" and feeds them snacks
-talks on the phone
-gurgles his milk
-A size 5 in diapers and HATES getting it changed
-says no no when he doesn't want something
-drinks from a cup and only from a bottle once in a while before bed
-LOVES whatever mommy and daddy is eating
-says "ball"-can throw and roll it
-Has figured out buttons
-Getting TWO molars
-standing for about 15-25 seconds independently
-Loves "Sid the Science Kid"
-Sings in the car with mommy
-Can changes the channel on the TV (though not always to the most appropriate ones...haha)
-Enjoys climbing and pulling things off of shelves
-Claps for himself when he falls
-Rides a big boy train :)
-Snuggles and very loving
-Enjoys books and playing peek a boo
-Can hang from the bar at little gym
-Can walk while only holding ONE of mommy's hands
-Puts himself to sleep
-Wearing 24 months in clothes
-really loves being able to face forward in his big boy carseat
-A VERY messy eater
-Babbles and Talks all the time
-Blows kisses
-Can drive his fire truck, but only backwards :)
-likes to go on walks in his wagon, blow bubbles, and do pretty much ANYTHING outside
-Bathtime is his favorite part of the day
-Hair is thickening up and quite curly :)
-Still loves to give hugs and LOTS of kisses
-continues to melt his mommy's heart and be the apple of his daddy's eye

We look forward to the many happy years we will have with you, Evan! You are our pride and joy!

Chapter 2: Barnyard Bash
On Saturday afternoon, we threw Evan a barnyard bash! We were so excited that our family and close friends could attend INCLUDING Grandnan and Aunt Sarah all the way from Virginia! It was so fun to have them here for the special occasion and I am hoping it become a tradition! We spent Friday and Saturday getting all the goodies and decoration together for the party! In addition, thank you so much to Mimzy and our good friends, Clint and Melissa Golash for all your help! Christian and I are so blessed!

Happy Birthday to Evan!!! The party decor was super cute! Looks like everything went well and the pictures of him with the cake all over him, are my favorite! I can't believe that our babies are one. It has gone by too fast!
