When You're TWO is all about YOU!

Chapter 1: ALL about Evan

I just can't believe Evan is TWO years old!!!! I mean doesn't it just seem like yesterday that he looked like this....

And what about this...


And now...a BIG TWO YEAR OLD! (these are a little preview from his 2 year b-day pics)

Some of Evan's Favorites:

Yogurt, Choo Choos, Curious George, his TAG, BALLS, jumping on his bed, taking baths, coloring, going down the slide at the park on his tummy, blueberries, chips, BUZZ!, sunglasses, wearing funny hats (dino beanie, engineer hat, colonial hat, chef hat), feeding the giraffes at the zoo, LITTLE GYM, hot dogs, the noodle forest at the Children's Museum, playing outside, blowing bubbles, Mickey Mouse, playing chase, hanging from bars like a monkey, seeing the fish at the aquarium, reading books (Fav: Curious George series, No No No Little Turtles, Baby David Series, No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, train anything), watching football with daddy, pushing things all over the house (shopping cart, truck, lawnmower), singing songs (Thomas song, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Hot Dog dance, Patty Cake, the Dip (though I think he thinks it is about Ketchup LOL), talking on the phone to UNCS (uncle MJ), when daddy tosses him in the air, hugs from mommy :), LOVES his big boy train bed, giving sister kisses and her "P" (pacifier)

Funny Things he Says:

"No No No Bad Puppies" (and then tries to put them in timeout)-though sometimes when he does something...tries to say the puppies did it..."Really Evan? The puppies drew on the wall?"

Can name all the Trains from Thomas the Train

"Kiss It Mommy" (all his little boo boos)

"OH Gosh"

"Un, TWO, free Shoot" (one, two, three shoot!) shoots hoops in his basketball hoop

Can identify all the major colors (pink, purple, blue, red, green, brown, orange, yellow)

"Ket Mommy" (catch mommy)

"Choo Choo Track"

Can name his body parts

LOVES riding in the car and looking out the window "trees, sky, balloons (new home sales LOL), home, car, BIG truck, beep beep, GYM)

"Cheese NOO NOO" (Mac N Cheese)

"MEESH" (Goldfish)

"COOL Dude"

"My Eyes!" (asking for his sunglasses)

"Brush Teeeet" (Brush Teeth)

And a TON of words...And trying new ones everyday! A new word he is now using ALL the time...GIRAFFE!

This year was also a year full of FIRSTS!
-First Steps (forwards and backwards)

-Rode a train

-Had Icecream

-Walked on the balance beam at gym

-Went underwater all by himself

-Caught a ball
-Colored his first picture

-Became a big brother :)
-Feed ducks and animals in petting zoo

-Had his first lollipop
-Went in the ocean
-Slept in Big boy bed
-Has his own seat on an airplane
-Lots of fun outings to fun places: PHX zoo, wildlife zoo, children's museum, mall storytime, library, park (love being stay at home mommy!)

Chapter 2: Evan celebrated with his friends at The Little Gym!

Evan had a great party with all his little friends, though BFF Camden was sick :( at The Little Gym! Amy was one of the hosts and did a FANTASTIC job! There were so many fun activities for the kids to do! Air track, games, bubbles, balls, sticks, parachute, and lots of free play!

We accented the party with of course...train themed goodies!

You can see the goodie boxes behind Evan and his shirt we got him made!




As you can see...he had a blast!





I think his favorite thing was having UNCS chase him all over!
Thank you to all Evan's family and friends that made his party so special! We are so lucky to have such great family and friends to celebrate with!
Cake time! Though he was so exhausted, all he wanted was a juice box!





Thank you Grandnan for all your help in making this party so special for Evan! He had such a blast and I know his friends did too!!!!

And after the party...we went to Evan's favorite restaurant...RED ROBIN! They sang to him...he thought it was so cool!

Funny thing about the sundae...didn't want to eat it and didn't want anyone else to either! But finally gave in!
And when we got home...he had so much fun getting out all his gifts and...got his gift from Grandnan...A THOMAS THE TRAIN TABLE!!!! AH!
HE LOVES IT!

In the chef hat and apron Camden got him for his kitchen :) The boy kind of likes dressing up :)
And...we wanted to take some more pics with Grandnan...though with a TWO year old...doesn't always go as planned :) He did not cooperate!


And first thing the next morning...After getting in his Nemo costume, Evan went straight for the train table!Chapter 3: Boy in Heaven

On January 23, we went to the Scottsdale Train Park! Evan loved it! Check out his face when we walked in and he saw the train!

WOW...a Tunnel! He wasn't scared at all! Just in AWE the entire time!

After the park, we went to Todd's for a BBQ and Mimzy got this awesome icecream cake! YUUUUUUM! Thank you Todd and Mimzy for an awesome day!
Well, that wraps up the final post that will be in Evan's 2nd year blog book! What an awesome year this has been, I look forward to many more adventures with this little guy!

One Month Old!

Today, Ainsley is one month old! We don't have her checkup until Friday morning and I will edit the bottom of this post after her appointment with weight, height, any updates :) We will feel like little Ainsley is already doing so much! She holds up her head and moves it around like crazy...she is very wide eyed and checks EVERYTHING OUT! She will grab at objects and will follow moving objects. She is one strong cookie too! When being burped, she tries to stand up and push away. She is getting more attached to the pacifier and absolutley LOVES to be held (what baby doesn't?) AND wants to be held all night long! She really enjoys music and when she is upset singing really helps! Her favorite song right now...Katy Perry Firework...LOL...she just loves when mommy sings (I am the worst singer, EVER!). That song just puts her right to sleep! She is growing and changing everyday and we definetly see her little personality developing!

UPDATE: We had her 1 month checkup today and she looked great! Weighing in at 10 pounds, 3 oz and 22 inches long...puts her in 75th percentile for both! The doctor went ahead and put her on medication for her acid reflux and we are hoping it helps with her discomfort after feeding.

And...we have started tummy time! She doesn't really like it but big brother is there for support! Evan just loves her so much and I know they are going to be the best of buds!

Fam of Four Fun!

I can't believe Ainsley is almost a month old! These last four weeks have flown by! Having Aunt Sarah here for a week and Grandnan (though Evan calls her Mimi) here for two weeks has been GREAT! Next week, I am flying solo for the first time! AH! :)

And I feel like Ainsley has already changed so much! She is awake more frequently and definitely growing like a weed! She will hit toys that you put above her and usually scream (guessing she doesn't like it). She is doing OK at nights but does not like to sleep in her own bed! So...she usually ends up snuggling with us and hogging our bed LOL! The other morning Christian and I woke up in a tiny space and the was sprawled out all over the bed. She has begun to make the funny noises that Evan did...like a little lamb or piggy. She is SOOOO sweet, loves to cuddle and be held but sometimes does randomly scream...so we are pretty sure there is some attitude in there. She does seem to have acid reflux (POOR THING) but we took her to the doctor today and considering she has gained TWO pounds since she was born, they are not too concerned and gave us some tips on how to make her more comfortable.

Evan is so great with her! Loves to hold her, put her paci in her mouth, bring her blankets, burp rags, help carry her carseat, etc. And this morning he said he loves her :) I was so worried about jealousy and other than being a little more clingy to mommy than usual...he has been wonderful.

The last two weeks we have done lots of fun things! Gone to little gym, the aquarium, the Children's Museum, eaten at lots of yummy restaurants, and RELAXED! It has been GREAT!

Last weekend we went to the aquarium! Evan LOVED walking around and looking at all the fish. Then, we ate at the restaurant. As you can see...he had lots of fun! So glad Mimi had her phone because I couldn't find my camera!

Do you see the fish with the long pointy nose that Evan is looking at? This fish was so cool...it followed Evan as he walked along the tank. Evan kept giving him kisses and thought it was really funny the fish followed him around...it was his "friend". He kept asking to go back and see this fish...

This was our table at the restaurant! Can you believe how close we got to the tank! Dinner with the sharks!

Children's Museum! We attended a math class for 0-2 year olds the other day with Amy and Camden and here are a few pics of the kids playing...

We have had a great two weeks! And today is Evan's 2nd birthday party! So I am sure there will be lots of pics later from that!

Aunt Sarah's Visit!

Last Sunday, Aunt Sarah came to visit! Although we didn't do much more than relax, watch Glee, and hang out....we had a great time! Evan really enjoyed having her here and it was great to have the extra help since Christian had to go back to work :(
